Nike Lunarfly+ 2 General Info:
The Lunarfly+ 2 is the second generation of Nike?s Lunarfly series and was released in February 2011. Just like its predecessor, the Lunarfly+ 2 is a well cushioned, light weight running shoe for efficient runners. They work well as an everyday runner, speed/tempo work out shoe and can even be used on race day.

Nike Lunarfly+ 2 Sole Unit:
The cushioning in the Lunarfly+ 2 uses LunarLite foam which 30 percent lighter than standard Phylon found it other shoes. LunarLite is extremely lightweight and quite spring (almost feels like you are walking on a cloud). The foam has proven to be pretty resilient as it still has a lot of its initial quality after 200 miles of wear and tear on it. The midsole of the shoe is the Dynamic Support system that adjusts to your stride with every run. The Dynamic Support system provides enough support without being rigid. The outsole of the shoe is the same as the previous generation; the classic Nike waffle pattern that allows for ample flexibility and add to efficiency. The outsole material also provides great traction.

Nike Lunarfly+ 2 Upper:
As with its predecessor, the Lunarfly+ 2 doesn’t have a lot of stitching or overlays. The upper is simple and basic. It has a breathable mesh outer with an inner sleeve that fits snuggly to the foot. It is easy to take off and put back on. The Lunarfly+ 2 upper has two options: standard and Breathe. The Breathe has the same snug innersleeve, but has larger openings in the breathable mesh to allow for greater ventilation. The Lunarfly+ 2 comes in a wide variety of colors that look cool and will stand out.

Nike Lunarfly+ 2 Opinion:
A few months ago I finally had someone watch me run and suggested proper shoes (Neutral Running Shoes). After running with the wrong type of shoes, I purchased the LunarFly+ 2 and have enjoyed the shoes immensely. They were soft and cushy and felt as though I was walking on a cloud. While running they have shown enough support and flexibility whether it be on gravel, trails or the road. I give the sole credit for relieving the peroneal tendonitis that occurred using other running shoes. The original Lunarfly+’s fit around the heel was quite loose (purchased the original after purchasing the Lunarfly+ 2) but Nike seemed to have fixed that since I have had no qualms with the heel. It is pretty robust and fits just right. I do not have wide feet, but I can see that people with wide feet may have issues with these shoes as they fit pretty snug on my feet. The only problem I have with the shoe is that they seem to wear pretty quickly. I am up to about 250 miles on them and the outsole of the shoe where I strike the ground is wearing to the base of the waffles. But, I cannot get over how lightweight the shoes are and how supportive they are. So if you are looking for a lightweight, supportive shoe for medium mileage runners (20-30 miles a week) or looking for a speed work/racing shoe, these are your shoes
